Andrew Taylor

Chef de Cuisine

Andrew Taylor is the Chef de Cuisine at Union Square Cafe.

Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, Andrew’s love of cooking stemmed from his early experiences in the kitchen with his mother and aunts. In 2010, he graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Business Management and went on to train in classical French cuisine at the Culinary Institute of America.

While in culinary school, Andrew completed an externship at The Lambs Club in Midtown Manhattan, joining the restaurant as a line cook upon graduation.  After a stint in Boston working at the celebrated restaurant Menton, Andrew returned to New York to work at A Voce in 2015. A year later, he was hired as Pastry Sous Chef for Alex Stupak’s flagship restaurant, Empellón, where, over the course of four years, he worked his way up to Chef de Cuisine. After launching his own consulting business in 2021, Andrew returned to the kitchen in 2022 as part of the opening team of The Ned Nomad, serving as Executive Sous Chef.

In October 2024, Andrew joined the Union Square Cafe team as Chef de Cuisine. He is proud to work alongside Chef Lena Ciardullo leading a team of talented chefs and continuing the legacy of the restaurant in its fourth decade.
